Nowadays, the extensive use of superconducting devices (magnets and accelerating structures) aimed to increase performance on energy and the power of the beam, while maintaining reasonable sizes, low overall energy consumption and industrial feasibility, has led to developing great efforts on the design of these components.
Not only their main performance assessment is essential, but most of the time it is necessary to perform and accurate and detailed study of all technological aspects: ACS is able to provide a detailed study of associated cryogenic systems (cryostats, distribution of the cryofluides, interfaces to the liquefiers and refrigerator design) and a detailed study of measurement instrumentation.
From Manufacturing to Design
The use of superconducting devices seeks to increase energy and power performance of the beam, while maintaining reasonable sizes, low power consumption and industrial feasibility. The experience of ACS has led to great efforts on the design of these components.
Modeling studies
ACS engineers have extensive experience in modeling studies to optimize acceleration performance and mechanical and thermal stability. – 3D modeling of electromagnetic fields. – Mechanical analysis (FEM) of electromagnetic and thermal effects. – Studies on interfaces and component integration.
Cryostat and others cryogenics systems
Thanks to its experience, ACS can establish the mechanical constraints of cryostats and their associated cryogenic systems. – Design and detailed study of associated cryogenic systems (cryostats, cryofluid distribution, liquefier and refrigirator interfaces). – Design and detailed study of the associated measurement and control instrumentation (sensors, actuators, electrical interfaces, procedures and supervision).
From design to realization
ACS has developed an exclusive partnership with manufacturers with unique knowledge in the fields of calculation, vacuum, cryogenics, magnetic shielding, control & command. These partnerships between French companies allow us to offer our customers a complete array of services.
